Friendship Bay is a Worcester bumper winner under Timmy Murphy and injured his tendon prior to his hurdling debut which was due to be at Aintree. He has been off the track since but is now over his injury on what has been a long and frustrating period but his welfare has always been paramount. He has been plagued by niggly injuries and because of his size has been difficult to train.
He ran at Newbury on 23 March with Timmy Murphy aboard and he stayed on in good style to finish 8th at 50/1.
He returned to action at Aintree on 15 June, in a 2m 4f Novices' Hurdle with Timmy Murphy aboard and ran well for a long way before a mistake at the third last flight cost him dear but he did stay on in good style to get in the places
He is recovering well from a recent injury and will be out again in the new year when the ground is more suitable.
