James was a professional jockey and rode in two Grand Nationals.

He also had several rides at the Cheltenham Festival including Gambling Prince
on whom he won the Greenham Hurdle at Newbury.

James and his wife Jane work as a team and have been training since 2006.
Since then they have had considerable success on the flat and over jumps.

The 2012/13 NH Season produced 8 winners from 59 runners
at a strike rate of 14%, with 19 placed runners.
So far the 2013 flat season has begun well with 3 winners from 21 runners.

In 2011, Phoenix Flight was placed in the Ascot Stakes at the Royal Meeting
and he also won on the flat and over hurdles.

Prophete de Guye won a £20,000 handicap chase at Ascot and Ghostwing showed the yards' versatility by smashing the 5f track record at Southwell.

Another notable winner was Omix d'Or in the Perth National.

Two other notable successes have been Caldercruix and Trackmate who were both purchased cheaply at the sales by James and Jane for their respective owners David Mantle and Barry Preece.

James works with his owners to carefully plan each horses campaign and his owners are always kept fully informed.
