Trackmate

Trackmate {known as Toby in the yard} was acquired from the Alan Swinbank stable in May 2011 for Barry Preece and has done him proud.

He won a 2m 3f Novices' Handicap Hurdle at Stratford on 29 July with Liam Treadwell aboard at 12/1. He moved up as the field approached the straight and stayed on in good style for a first victory on his handicap debut.

His next run was at Bangor-on-Dee on Bank Holiday Monday in a 2m 4f Handicap Hurdle with Robert Kirk aboard and finished an excellent second.

He followed this with another victory at 9/2 at Uttoxeter in a 3m Handicap Hurdle on 23 September with Liam Treadwell aboard.

After a second next time out at Fontwell he ran in the 2m 5f Listed Lanzarote Handicap Hurdle at Kempton Park on 12 January 2013 and ran well for a long way but struggled when the pace quickened and was pulled up by Liam Treadwell.

He ran at Kempton in a jumpers all weather bumper over 2m and travelled well for a long way before being outpaced entering the straight over a trip shorter than his best.

His next run was in a 3m Handicap Hurdle at Market Rasen on 10 March and he could never get competitive and finished 8th at 40/1.

He followed this with a second place in a 2m 3f Handicap Hurdle at Exeter on 2 April with Liam Treadwell aboard.

He ran in a 3m 110yd Handicap Hurdle at Aintree on 17 May and under a cool ride from Liam Treadwell took it up approaching the last and drew clear for an impressive 6 length win at 14/1.

He will now have a short break.
